Thanksgiving Day Outfit: Layering

I am grateful.

Hello everyone! I hope your Thanksgiving Day was filled with abundant blessings and a room full of individuals whom you love. There is so much to be grateful for; not just on Thanksgiving, but every day. I’m thankful for my family, friends, home, education and so much more. Thanksgiving day was my ideal day: food, relaxing and Netflix (and a little Christmas shopping). As you can imagine, relaxing doesn’t require the trendiest of outfits, and if I’m being honest, I spent the whole day in a sweatshirt and joggers! But if I did have an exciting event or regal dinner to attend to for the holiday, here’s what I would’ve wore.

The layering of pieces is the main focus for this look because I obviously want to be warm and comfortable with the changing weather. I refuse from not being able to wear my spring dresses in cold temperatures, so layering is the perfect solution to any exposed arms and legs.

In this look, I provided two different layering options – the first look features a long knit cardigan and the second look is styled using a cropped and oversized sweater. These basics are from Forever 21 and essential pieces to any wardrobe.

The standout of this look is definitely the Lulu’s dress. I was able to purchase this piece for half the original price on thredUP, in fact, I still have a 50% promo code (EMILYOEN) that new customers can use up until February 2018! #SecondHandFirst

As for shoes, I wanted to give you guys an option for styling open-toed shoes in the colder seasons and I loved the idea of exposing fun socks. This footwear style definitely isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, granted my socks give off a “back in time” style, but perhaps you have neutral color/patterns to better fit this look. Even white frilly socks could make this look super cute! My socks are from Forever 21 and my shoes are Sam Edelman, purchased off of thredUP.

I hope you guys enjoyed this look as much as I did! This outfit is 100% customizable to your own wardrobe and I hope you find unique ways to re-create it for our holiday plans. I’m always trying to find ways to push my comfortability in fashion and I encourage you to do the same.

Happy Black Friday to all my shoppers and have a great weekend to those who are reading from their cozy nooks,
