You know how some people’s handbags are exactly like Mary Poppin’s and they could seemingly fit the world in them? Yeah, that’s not me. You can see the bottom of my bag just fine; granola bar crumbs and all.
I’m not sure why, but I am not a purse person or any bag person for that matter! It’s really the biggest inconvenience for me to walk around with a small or large tote of stuff all the time. With my anxiety-ridden mind, it’s almost like another worry to carry on my shoulders wherever I go; “don’t forget the bag, don’t forget the bag, don’t forget the bag…”, my mind says. If I could carry around my Kate Spade lanyard for the rest of my life, I would…and I probably will.
So why should you care what’s in my bag? I know what you’re thinking, does she even own a bag? Yes, I do! And you should be curious about what I keep my bag because I don’t like to carry around stuff, so when I do carry around stuff, it’s important stuff!
HERE WE GO
My current bag is actually a clutch from Haiti Design Co. and sold at the lovely boutique I work at, Sticks & Stones. Unfortunately, they’re pretty rare to come by because they are made in Haiti, so I will link my favorite Lil backpack I wear when I need just a little bit more space.
* Huge shoutout to CaseApp for collaborating with me on this post! Their cases are seriously amazing and 100% customizable to your device. CaseApp lets you design your own custom iPhone case by freehanding or uploading a picture you love. I choose this case by scrolling through some of the popular designs on their page and let me tell you, it was love at first sight. I’ve received handfuls of compliments on this earthy/nature-esque case because it’s so trendy! I’ve had it on for close to two weeks (and have already dropped my phone once or twice) and it does an incredible job with protection and durability. The star/constellation case was customized by ME, by simpling finding a gorgeous graphic on Pinterest and uploading it to their user-friendly design page. In all honesty, I will be repurchasing from them after my new iPhone upgrade this summer. If you’re interested in playing around with some designs, you can use my code “EMSOEN20” for 20% your grand total! I can’t wait to see what you create. *
There you have it, my essential and limited list of items that I keep in my bag. If I wasn’t in a hurry all the time, I’d most likely throw in an extra concealer along with some tissues, a comb, Advil, sticky notes and an extra phone charger! I’m curious to know what YOU keep in your bag…are you a Mary Poppins or bare essentials kind of gal?
