Everyday (Drugstore) Makeup Products

Hello! In today’s blog post, I’m going to be sharing my everyday makeup products/routine with you all. I have a secret fetish when it comes to beauty products and I love when my friends come to me for suggestions on what to get and where to get it. As you’ll soon find out, I don’t tend to invest into high-end products…I like to call myself a bargain shopper. A friendly reminder that what suits my skin and liking best, could be entirely different for you. Take this routine as it is and add your personal twist!

Let’s talk primer

If I’m being honest, I’m not sold on the current primer I own. This is the one step in my beauty routine that I just can’t get right. Priming is such an important step to the start of your makeup routine, so doing your research on target-specific primers (ex. pore-minimizing primer) could really benefit your overall look. For this reason, I use the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser. Obviously, I have large pores around my T-zone causing the area to get super oily throughout the day, so I use this product to prep my skin + hide the appearance of those black holes. I know there are better primers out there that I’m leading towards investing in, but if you’re on a budget, it’s good.

Foundation & Concealer

The L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation has been my holy-grail since it’s release date. I prefer a lighter coverage for everyday use, so this one works magic! It’s lightweight, medium coverage and very natural looking. If you tend to have more acne than the average pimples here and there, you will most likely need to pair it with a concealer; which is exactly what I do. Lately, I’ve been loving my Glossier Stretch Concealer to carry on that “natural and dewy” look, but for a more full-coverage appearance, I can always count on my Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer. If you want to learn more about the Glossier brand and my honest opinion of their products, check out this post!

Bronze it up

Calling all my pasty Minnesota girls…the CoverGirl Tru BlendBronzer is your new best friend. This bronzer is so pigmented and worth the buck. Make sure to blend, blend, blend with this product because it can become very clown-looking if you don’t.

I’m blushing

My choice of blush always depends on where I’m going and what I’m doing. The Glossier Cloud Paint is for the natural and dewy preferred gals, so if it’s a “no makeup, makeup look” Target run day, then this is my go-to. Now, if I’m headed out for the night, I’ll lean more towards my Milani Baked Blush for a longer-lasting finish. Beware that the Milani blushes are highly pigmented and have a lot of fallout, so I would encourage only dabbing your brush about once or twice into the product and tapping off excess!

Sparkle Baby

Caution! I am not obsessed with highlight, so the NYX Born To Glow Liquid Illuminzer is again, a more natural and faint highlight (depending on how much you apply). I personally love liquid formulas because I feel like they’re more natural and glowy. For an even more natural appearance, you could apply this before foundation and concealer and it will look as though it’s your natural skin dew!

Bat those lashes

Once you go L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black, you nevergo back! seriously. I love a dramatic top lash line and then leaving my lower lash natural and this exemplifies that beautifully.

Spritz, Spritz

Mario Badescu, you have my heart. I’ve never owned a beauty product that is SO versatile. I use my Mario Badescu Rose Water Spray before and after makeup application, as a wake-up mist, as a touch-up throughout the day and I also use it on my dry hair! 12/10 recommend.

I could go on and on about why I love my beauty routine, but then again, routines can get boring. So, if you have any budget-friendly products you’re loving, leave me a comment below!
